This is a personal blog written and edited by Megan Zeni. My readers are primarily parents and teachers from all over the globe, who work with and care for children. As a community, we value the importance of unstructured and creative, imaginative nature play. Outdoor learning, outdoor classrooms, playful learning, risky play, gardening with kids, and tips on organizing family life are addressed on this blog. If you’d like me to work with your organization or research project on any of these topics, please contact me here for availability.
Speaking & Professional Development:
I am a professional teacher certified to teach in the provinces of British Columbia and Ontario. I have 20 years of classroom experience teaching grades K-7 in both public and private schools. I currently teach in an outdoor classroom and school garden. I hold degrees from Simon Fraser University (B.A.), the University of British Columbia (B.Ed.), and from OISE at the University of Toronto (M.Ed). In the Fall of 2018 I will begin my doctoral studies at the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Education.
As a motivating and experienced public speaker and consultant, I am available to facilitate interactive, hands-on workshops and walkshops. You can choose a workshop topic here and you can read testimonials from workshop participants here!
This blog participates in Share-a-sale and Amazon affiliate programs. If you have a product you would like me to promote via social media it must be directly related to the topics my readers enjoy. Open-ended toys, educational games, books, products or publications that support creative, imaginative and outdoor play & learning are all suitable for my blog. Please contact me prior to sending any products for review.
Advertising opportunities from carefully selected products and organizations that align with my views on organizing family life, play and playful learning will be considered. Reviews will be my honest opinion and clearly identified as paid or sponsored content. You can contact me here for rates and advertising options.
Sharing Relevant Content:
If you have a research study that promotes the value and importance of outdoor play and learning through play, I am happy to review your study and promote it on my blog at no cost to you. If you have a play-based study that requires participants in Vancouver’s Lower Mainland, I am happy to promote your search for participants on my social media pages. I am also happy to post multi-media visuals of talks and articles from publications that contain quality play, outdoor learning, and kids-in-gardens relevant content. Contact me here with a link you would like shared.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
