This workshop is for experienced educators willing to consider the academic, social, and physical benefits of outdoor play as a pedagogical approach to teaching across the K-7 curriculum. Pedagogies of play are often referenced as a systematic approach to creating a school culture that values risk taking, making mistakes, exploration of ideas and joyful learning. Participants will leave with a renewed understanding how affordances for play can offer complexity and higher order engagement while learning in outdoor spaces.
